- New Surface devices are on their way
- Intel and AMD chips could be involved
- Expect new products from March
Us Surface Pro 11 review And Surface laptop 7 review will tell you that we are very impressed Microsoft‘s own-brand computers this year – and it looks like there’ll be plenty more Surface products coming our way in 2025.
An extensive leak Windows Central outlines what the future holds Microsoft surface. Apparently we’re new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models in 2025, both with Copilot+ PC branding and Intel Lunar Lake CPUs inside (as previously rumored).
These will be the first Intel-powered Surface computers to feature the AI-centric Copilot+ PC branding – following the Qualcomm-powered models mentioned early on – as Lunar Lake entails the necessary neural processing architecture.
Don’t expect too much to change in terms of aesthetics, though. According to the Windows Central report, Microsoft will likely stick with current designs for the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop in 2025 and beyond.
A new mystery device
Some more tidbits: the new Surface Pro and Surface Studio will have anti-reflective screens (unlike the most recent versions), a card reader option will be available and we may even see 5G on the Surface Laptop for the first time.
The Surface Laptop Studio will also get a renewal in 2025, it seems. Intel or AMD chips can be used here, but again the Copilot+ PC branding will be used. According to insiders, Microsoft is considering a 16-inch version.
According to the report, a new 11-inch Surface device is also in the pipeline, which will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset – although it’s not clear what the form factor will be. Finally, there are rumors that a new Surface Dock is also on the way.
We can expect these new products to arrive from the first quarter of 2025, says Windows Central, so that’s March at the latest. Plans and schedules can obviously change, but it looks like 2025 is going to be a fun year for Microsoft Surface fans.
